The Fort Lauderdale Temple was closed for semi-annual maintenance during the first two weeks of November, so we took advantage of the opportunity to spend time with kids and grandkids. From November 3-7 we were at Debbi's and Greg's place in Colorado Springs, enjoying tennis, miniature golf, a visit to the Focus on the Family visitors' center, wildlife, games, meals, and general romping with Kylie and Kira and their parents.
From November 9-16 we were with David and Amy and five of their six kids on a discounted Caribbean cruise. Dallin stayed home so as not to get behind in calculus and other subjects. (Can he really be a member of our family?) Highlights included stops at the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan, with snorkeling and cave tubing off the ship plus ping pong, miniature golfing, bean bag toss, trivia games, basketball, and lots and lots of food on board.
On Sunday, when we returned we were able to visit for a few hours with Kathi and Jose and their kids, who had come down for the wedding of Jose's cousin.
