Family Reunion in Colorado Springs

We celebrated the Fourth of July this year by traveling to Colorado Springs for a family reunion with ten of our children and most of their children, switching temple assignments with the other members of the temple presidency, who were most gracious in accommodating our needs.  Debbi's and Greg's home served as the central gathering place for meals and socializing.  We also enjoyed a day at Monument Valley Park (with a little tennis and playing catch with some of my grandkids), another at North Cheyenne Canyon Park, and a morning at the Garden of the Gods.  Swimming at the Comfort Inn Suites, where six of the families stayed, was another highlight--especially for the kids.  Words can't do justice to how wonderful it was to get together with our favorite people, but perhaps the following pictures can offer a brief glimpse into what we are so grateful for.  Any who want a larger version of any picture may click on it.  Anyone wanting a still larger version may ask us to send a copy of the original file.  Photos without captions will be considered to be sufficiently self-explanatory.  Individual photos later in this post will have names, for the benefit of those who can't remember or who haven't seen some of those pictured for a while.

Meetings, Santa Lucia and Valle de Angeles

Sunday we had a good meeting with our various temple coordinators, after which we took a group photo, which we'll post below.  Next Sunday we'll have a similar meeting with the other half.

Monday five senior missionary couples went on a day trip to Santa Lucia and Valle de Angeles, a couple of picturesque colonial style towns in the mountains just north of Tegucigalpa.  We'll also post selected photos of both locations.

Bob and Sherryl Visit

This past week's highlight was a visit by Bob and Sherryl Cazier (my brother and his wife).  They arrived Wednesday, June 4, and left for home the following Wednesday, June 11.  We saw various sites in Tegucigalpa and in Comayagua with them, along with the Val and Laurene Starkey.  (Val is Sherryl's brother.)  They said a highlight for them (as it was for us) was being able to do sealing sessions with them in the temple, both in English and in Spanish.

The following are a few photos to prove they were here:
